Spatz - The Scratching Sound

Spatz was looking out the backdoor when a scratching sound reached his keen ears. The intelligent black, white, and brown Sheltie knew he had to track it down. "I have to go out," he barked. So begins the encounter of an exuberant Shetland sheepdog with a distinctive scratching sound and its source, Gray Squirrel. This beautifully-illustrated children's book introduces the real-life adventures of Spatz, a Sheltie who likes to get dirty, play hide-and-seek, fetch balls, catch Frisbees, and even blow bubbles underwater. He lives with his owner Sherry Fair in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains and the South Carolina Midlands.

Editorial Reviews

The adventure with Spatz as he finds that scratching sound, will be the beginning of a child’s cherished relationship with a playful andcurious dog. My 8 year old neice read it to her 4 year old brother as Grandma listened!! A great introduction to the fun of sharing a good book.

Spatz:The Scratching Sound, is a wonderful story about the adventurous young Sheltie, Spatz. Set in the midlands of South Carolina, it begins as Spatz wakes up and decides he wants to go outside, and that is when the adventure starts. You see and hear as Spatz does, and go with him on a journey to figure out just what causes the curious scratching sound he hears. This book has beautiful illustrations and an engaging storyline that children of all ages will love. Not only that, but they’ll enjoy reading the creative way the words are printed across the pages. It also teaches children a bit about Shelties and what Spatz looks like. This book is definitely one the whole family can share and enjoy, and it would also work great as a gift. I enjoyed it immensely and am sure you will as well! I’m certainly going to keep my eye out for Spatz’s future adventures.
***** An Adorable Story for the whole family!
